The Japanese Carpenter Ant, Japan's largest and most familiar ant species, is now a figure.
The figure is modeled after a large worker ant.
Realistically recreating the compound eyes and body hair of these large worker ants, which are surprising in size even when seen in the wild. The head, abdomen, mandibles, and legs are articulated, allowing for various poses.
The most distinctive feature of ants is their "family group." The set includes two figures, allowing you to enjoy the ant-like behavior of them communicating with each other. Additionally, eggs, which are essential to an ant "family," are included, so you can recreate life inside a Japanese Carpenter Ant nest.
【Japanese Carpenter Ant】
One of the largest ant species in Japan, with queens reaching 18mm and large worker ants reaching 14mm.
Widely distributed throughout Japan, excluding the Amami and Okinawa regions, they prefer to build nests in sunny, open areas from mountainous regions to flatlands.
While worker ants vary in size from small to large-headed individuals, it seems there is no clear division of labor where "large worker ants = soldier ants."
Ants living in pitch-black nests communicate mainly through "scent" and "antennae," and it is known that they rely on scent and antennae to distinguish nestmates, care for eggs and larvae, and find paths to food sources.
