"Nature Tales" by Kaiyodo is a large-scale statue series themed around creatures living in the great outdoors, from every environment and every era, under the sculpting supervision of Shinobu Matsumura, the leading expert in biological sculpting.
This time, the theme is the crocodile, a waterside hunter that preys on large animals with its powerful jaws.
The Nile crocodile, named after Egypt's great river and inhabiting central and southern Africa, is a large species that can reach up to 5 meters in length, known for its ferocity in attacking almost any creature before it. We have captured the moment it bites into the leg of a wildebeest, a bovid herbivore also native to the African savanna, attempting to drag it into the water, in a 42cm-long three-dimensional model. The struggle between the two, churning the river water, creates a scene that unfolds right before your eyes.
The statue comes with a wood-grain base featuring a plaque that enhances this authentic piece of art, along with gloves for careful handling and a certificate of authenticity. We invite you to bring this masterpiece into your collection and experience the stories of nature.

• The Nile crocodile twists its body, preparing to unleash a "death roll"—a move where it spins its massive body while biting its prey to tear off flesh. The wildebeest kicks its hind legs in resistance, but escaping a bite force that can reach 2 tons may be difficult. The sculpting captures the powerful yet supple muscle dynamics of the crocodile refusing to let go and the wildebeest struggling desperately, depicting a gripping drama.
• The regular, linearly divided scutes on the back and the faint striped patterns are sculpted and painted with biological accuracy for a spectacular finish. The wet texture, as if just emerging from the water, is expressed through paint. Even the color of the murky river water is realistically rendered based on the natural environment of its habitat.

African waterside: Wildebeests that come to the river for seasonal migration or to drink water are often attacked by Nile crocodiles. The powerful jaws of a crocodile never let go once they bite into their prey. Furthermore, immediately after biting, they shake their bodies violently, giving the prey no chance to escape.
The confrontation between the wildebeest, a large mammal representing the African savanna, and the Nile crocodile. There are 27 known species of crocodiles, and while they may seem similar, their faces and characteristics actually differ by species. The Nile crocodile, which possesses one of the most formidable and robust appearances among crocodiles, is truly the very image of a crocodile that everyone envisions.
