As a follow-up to the "Nature Tales" large-scale statue series, which tackles this theme as authentic art, we have added two powerful predators to the lineup: the "Black Marlin" and the "Great White Shark"! The sculpting is handled by Shinobu Matsumura, a world-renowned leader in biological sculpting, and Taro Murai, an all-rounder sculptor who created the "SHIMANO x Kaiyodo STRIKE FANTASY" series, which combines his expertise in diorama production with his hobby of fishing. Their deep knowledge and observation of the subjects allow them to express the lively forms of these creatures in nature as statues. Inhabiting mainly the Indo-Pacific, this large species can reach lengths of about 2 meters, including its long, pointed bill, with females reaching up to 4.5 meters. Known as a "bonito eater" because it feeds on other fish, ranging from squid and small fish to even large skipjack tuna. In this Nature Tales release, the marlin is sculpted in the act of leaping out of the water in pursuit of prey, accompanied by a fleeing skipjack tuna. Furthermore, as a bonus, a remora that lives by attaching itself to large fish is included, with magnets to recreate the scene of it clinging to the marlin's belly.
