Led by Shinobu Matsumura, a leading expert in biological sculpting, the series showcases the skills of Kaiyodo's finest sculptors. The first lineup features three aquatic mammals from the whale family, to be released sequentially!
Each piece stands at an impressive 40cm class size, with precise sculpting calculated for realism at this scale and textures achieved through professional-grade painting that evokes the very environment where these creatures live. Cotton gloves are included to help you handle the delicately painted figures with care. Each piece is released in a limited quantity, delivered with a wood-grain base and a certificate in an envelope, featuring both a serial number and the artist's signature.
The orca, a ferocious predator, reigns at the top of the marine food chain as the "King of the Sea."
Known not only for its massive body and sharp teeth, which serve as powerful weapons, it is also recognized for its high intelligence, organized pack behavior, and diverse hunting techniques.
In "NATURE TALES," we have captured the dynamic moment of an orca cornering its prey, a sea lion. While the orca blocks the path with its massive bulk, the agile sea lion attempts to slip into the blind spot of the rocky terrain, though it may soon face a powerful strike from the orca's tail fluke. Male orcas, which can reach a maximum length of 9 meters, are larger than females and possess unique features such as a long, straight dorsal fin and impressive pectoral and tail fins. Please pay attention to the sculpting and painting that incorporate these distinctive characteristics, along with the glossy two-tone skin and powerful musculature.
