The "KAIYODO ART PROJECT" aims to turn artist works into figures that can be enjoyed up close. From sculptor Atsuhiko Misawa's popular "ANIMALS" series, we are releasing the Lion—often featured as the main visual in many art exhibitions—as a finished soft vinyl figure.
The original work is a life-sized wood carving sculpted from a block of camphor wood. It captures a majestic, imposing presence while maintaining a sense of approachability through its unique, soft, stylized form. During the figure's development, the shape was verified between Mr. Misawa and Kaiyodo sculptors from the initial stages. Rather than simply copying the original, the figure, standing approximately 16cm tall, was adjusted for optimal viewing at this scale. Every detail, from the overall balance to the lines of the mane and the chisel marks of the wood carving, was crafted under Mr. Misawa's supervision.
The coloring was also supervised by Mr. Misawa, arriving at the final product through repeated prototyping and revisions based on his own vision. Enjoy these vibrant lions in your own collection.
A tag with a serial number is included. Each version is produced in limited quantities.

• Gold Ver.
  A striking gold mane color scheme decided after discussions with Mr. Misawa. The pearl finish on the white fur is applied with a stronger luster, and the colors of the fine details—including the bright silver eyes, ears, nose, claws, and paw pads—have been adjusted for a more vivid balance.
